Noche transfigurada

Hoy salí de vacaciones, ergo, tengo tiempo para cubrir todos esos puntos en la agenda que, como todos los años, dejo para el final.

Desde hace tiempo había querido buscar el poema de Richard Dehmel que inspiró a mi compositor favorito (Arnold Shönberg para los despistados) al componer Noche transfigurada.

Hoy me decidí , y en cuestión de segundos me encontraba naufragando en sitios en alemán, en donde transcribían el poema en... ¿Qué creen?... Así es, en alemán.

Debido a mi precario dominio del idioma alemán (léase: total ausencia de conocimiento del idioma) decidí ajustar los filtros de búsqueda. Resultado: Traducciones al español de dudosa procedencia.

Queridos "blog-escuchas": ¿En verdad creen que publicaría algo así?

Renuncié entonces a mi feroz búsqueda, y me conformé con una traducción al inglés que resultó de mi agrado. Les dejo dicha traducción esperando les guste y me compartan su opinión. Consejo: Leer, y después escuchar la cuarta obra de este gran compositor austriaco.

the moon accompanies them, they gaze at it. 

The moon courses above the high of heaven, 

into which the black treetops reach. 

A woman’s voice speaks:

and yet had a great yearning 

fot purposeful life, fot the happiness 

and responsability of motherhood; so I dared 

and, shuddering, let my body 

be embraced by a srtange man, 

and have become pregnant from it. 

Now lifr has taken its revenge, 

now that I have met you. 

She walks whit awkward step. 

She looks up: the moon acoompanies them. 

Her dark glance is inundated whit ligth. 

A man’s voice speaks: 

Let the child you have conceived 

Be no burden to your soul. 

O see, how brightly the universe gleams” 

There is radiance on everything; 

you drift whit me on a cold sea, 

but a special warmth flickers 

from you to me, from me to you. 

This will trasnfigure the other’s child; 

You will bearit for me, from me; 

You have brought radiance on me, 

You have made a child myself. 

He claps her round her strong hips. 

Their breath mingles in the breeze. 

Two people go through the tall, clear night.
